Mae T.

Hello! My name is Mae T. (she/her/hers). I was born and raised in Sonora, CA, near Yosemite, but as an adult I have lived in and traveled to many other places worldwide. I attended college directly out of high school but decided to take a break for three years. When I decided to go back to school, I had a fresh perspective and newfound motivation for my educational journey. At the community college I attended previously, I was a Peer Mentor for the TRiO/Student Support Services program and an English and Child Development Tutor with the Academic Achievement Center. I believe that having multiple roles as a student at my previous school allowed me to have a broad perspective of student life and success. Currently at SSU, I am a new transfer student on Track I in the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies! I have a large range of interests and passions. I have always loved to travel and have been blessed to experience the rich cultural diversity of twelve different countries across the world. I believe that this has complimented my open-mindedness as a human being and taught me priceless life lessons. I love to connect and build a feeling of belonging and purpose within myself and others in a community. I believe that my life experiences have given me the opportunity to relate with others in a unique way. I am thrilled to be at Sonoma State University!
