About

Molly Mande is the Tutorial & Supplemental Instruction Coordinator for the LARC. Her origin story as an academic support services practitioner can be traced back to her time as a graduate student at Sonoma State University. During that time, she worked as a writing tutor and experienced how the pedagogical and philosophical approach of “better writers, not better writing” and use of peer educators created a welcoming bastion that could meet students where they were and empower them to understand and improve on their own learning and self-efficacy. Since graduating from SSU, Molly has helped to develop and manage a variety of academic support services and programs, including subject tutoring, writing tutoring, academic coaching, and college and career readiness. She is particularly passionate about services and programs that increase access to a postsecondary degree and mitigate equity gaps for historically underserved student populations. Molly feels very blessed to be able to bring her experience back to SSU and the LARC.
