Drop-In Tutoring Services
The LARC offers drop-in options for computer science, geology, and math. Please click on a tab to get more details, including the types of drop-in and how to view available drop-in hours and locations.
There are no appointments needed, and no limit to how much drop-in tutoring you can use. You can also read through our Drop-In FAQs to get more information about how drop-in services work.
Drop-In Math
The LARC holds drop-in MATH hours throughout the week in the main LARC space. During MATH Drop-In, students can come get help with any math-based content. Specific courses supported will depend on the tutor on shift, but most tutors can help with lower-level math courses and content. Drop-in hours for a specific math course can be viewed by using the Course Support Finder Tool or by finding the course on our schedule (See the "Find Drop-In Support" tab for instructions). Students are welcome to stop in any time during drop-in MATH hours and do their work in the space. Tutors are available to help with questions but may be supporting multiple students at once, so students who want dedicated one-on-one support should make an appointment.
Course-Specific Drop-In Hours
Some courses, such as CS courses, have embedded tutors who also offer outside drop-in hours for students in that course. In most cases, these tutors can only support students in the course(s) they support. Students in these courses will typically get information about tutoring hours and locations through their course Canvas and/or faculty member, but they can also use the Course Support Finder Tool or WC Online to see hours and locations. Periodically, these tutors can support students with other courses, but students should contact LARC to get approval.

LARC's Course Support Finder Tool can be used to see all available support for your course, including drop-in when available! To see drop-in hours and location(s) for your course, use the top drop-down. 
Once you select your course, you will see support options. If drop-in support is available for this course, there will be a block with "Drop-In Hours" at the top, and hours listed below. 
Note: Drop-in hours held outside the LARC will list the location. | You can also see available drop-in hours on our WC Online schedule. Access the schedule by loging into your SSU Student Portal and clicking on the Purple LARC tile. 
Once in the schedule, select your course in the top drop-down and you will be able to view both appointment options (in blue) and drop-in options (in red), if available. 
Drop-in hours held outside of LARC will have a location listed next to the tutor's name. 
Links for drop-in Zoom are shared directly with students in supported courses. If you are in a course with drop-in support and you do not have the link, contact your faculty.
