Writing Tutor [Embedded tutor for Engl 101]; Social Media Coordinator
Hi! My name is August (pronouns: he/him) and I'm a fourth year English major with a concentration in Literature. I transferred to Sonoma State in Fall of 2023 from a community college in my hometown where I also worked as a tutor! I'll be an embedded tutor for an Intro Composition class this Fall, but I'll also be available as a writing tutor in the LARC to help you brainstorm, plan and compose essays, and dissect complicated texts. One of my favorite parts about tutoring is helping others gain confidence in their critical thinking and writing abilities and establish a way to voice their opinions and ideas in a way that is unique to them. I've only recently grown to love writing, but I've always been a huge reader. I read so much when I was young that my parents used to ground me by taking away my books!
